Hours
Tuesday through Friday: 9am - 5pmAt St. Peter's Haven Family shelter, they provide short term housing for homeless and at-risk families. Most stays are approximately 90 days and serve to keep families off the street as they get back on their feet and seek a more permanent residency. Their transitional shelter consists of two homes a one family, four bedroom home, as well as a two family house that includes both a three bedroom and a two bedroom unit. At capacity, their three apartment units can shelter up to 18 people at any given time. The goal of their shelter program is to support and maintain the family as a unit, provide case management, and to assist their families in obtaining safe, affordable housing. Their utmost priority is to keep each family intact, so that they can maintain the normal rhythm of life. Their families work with a social worker, in cooperation with other services, to obtain more stable housing. During their stay, they also work with tenants to identify the root causes that have led to their current situations and ensure the entire family is obtaining the support they need, both on the individual level and as a whole. They accept families of any configuration, including inter-generational and extended families, and are particularly concerned for their veterans with families who are experiencing any degree of homelessness. They work closely with veterans organizations to identify benefits available to them, including housing and health aid.
