Palmetto House was established in 1989 by Dorchester Interfaith Outreach Ministries in response to the needs brought on by Hurricane Hugo.Casa Palmetto is a temporary residence for single women and families who are homeless.The mission of Palmetto House is to provide a safe and comfortable residence and nutritious meals, while helping residents successfully transition into the workforce, into a stable home, and into becoming a self-sufficient and contributing member of the community.
