Human Development Services of Westchester (HDSW) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) multi-service community-based organization with an annual budget of $5.7 million dollars. Human Development Services of Westchester is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health as a provider of housing and support services to individuals recovering from severe mental illness. HDSW currently serves over 1,000 individuals and families throughout Westchester County, New York. HDSW works within a continuum of care, allying with homeless shelters, psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation programs, transitional housing programs and day treatment programs. Since the 1999 merge into Human Development Services of Westchester, this agency has grown 50%. HDSW is the largest provider of case management and residential care for those recovering from psychiatric illnesses within Westchester County. HDSW employs 100 individuals, including counselors, psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners, case managers, certified social workers, a consulting nurse practitioner and a consulting psychiatrist, as well as administrative staff.


Mission Statement: HDSW is a social service organization providing quality behavioral health, rehabilitative, health, residential, and community stabilization services in Westchester County. HDSW is dedicated to empowering the individuals and families we serve to achieve self-sufficiency.
