*Firehouse Shelter is Located in the Fountain Heights Neighborhood in N Birmingham. This program operates out of 2 sites within 6 blocks of each other. *Entry level housing program that provides growth opportunities for 50 men to transition from homelessness to affordable permanent housing. *Transportation to church, job interviews, workplace sites, doctors appointments, and recovery meetings are offered on a limited basis. *Guests meet weekly with a Case Manager to address life issues that have caused current homelessness, to reset their life plan and seek to accomplish their new life goals. *Men receive career readiness training, employment counseling, educational planning, life skills workshop opportunities, addiction and recovery accountability, and housing services daily. *Fitness opportunities are available at the local YMCA as well as participation in local church services and recovery based meetings throughout the week. *Guests can stay up to 24 months and when income is secured they are required to pay 30% of their total gross adjusted wages to continue participation in the program.

(the corporation) is to provide to homeless men, ages 18 and older, in the Birmingham Area a nurturing and caring environment offering supportive services that break the cycle of homelessness and empower individuals to achieve their highest potential.
