Residents of the Transition Program are working closely with Emmaus House case managers to determine what caused them to become homeless and what steps they should take to overcome their situation. Inhabitants of the transition program have to live drug and alcohol free lives, pay a weekly program fee and adhere to a budget and a savings plan. To be eligible to participate in the Transition Programmed, residents must have a sustainable income that can be verified and a transition plan that can be obtained.Residents of the programmed have the possibility to stay in a semi-private dorm and have some flexibility in scheduling. The transition programmed has a maximum stay of nine months throughout the year.
