ECHO Housing Corporation has witnessed first-hand the impact that the "Housing First" model can have on individuals and families experiencing chronic or episodic homelessness. The Housing First model is a dignified and humane way to address the needs of homeless families and has been repeatedly shown to result in improved outcomes for those with significant barriers to housing. Housing First provides the best possible environment for their clients to address life's issues - a home. Dedicated to utilizing the most current best practices, ECHO Housing Corp. has realigned their Lucas Place housing program to provide permanent-supportive housing services utilizing the Housing First model. Their on-site Case Management staff is trained to develop an individualized service plan for each resident that is based on his or her self-determined needs and goals. They believe that this program shift will allow us to continue to do what they do best - to provide housing, help and hope to those who need it most.
